Canal City Realty

Welcome to the first stop in our Amsterdam neighborhood tour series: Zeeburgereiland. A man-made island on the eastern edge of the city, it has become one of Amsterdam’s newest residential neighborhoods — quiet, green, and surrounded by water, right next to the historic Orange Locks (Oranjesluizen). Sluisbuurt, the district rising alongside the locks, is set to become home to some of the tallest residential towers in Amsterdam. In this short I’m standing at the Oranjesluizen — the lock complex that is the reason Amsterdam has no tides, and that still moves around 120,000 boats a year.

Thinking about buying or renting in Zeeburgereiland or elsewhere in Amsterdam-Oost? Get in touch — as someone who actually lives here, I would be glad to help you find your place.
